About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist, Corporate Security to oversee and optimize our Physical Protection System (PPS). In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of all technical physical security measures, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related infrastructure. You will stay informed on emerging security technologies, industry standards, and evolving threat landscapes to proactively identify and address potential vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will support broader corporate security initiatives, contributing to policy development, risk assessments, incident response, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical acumen, communication skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to safeguarding people, property, and information.
While this role is technical in nature, it also requires a strong physical security and risk assessment background and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
As a Senior Technical Specialist, Corporate Security you will :
- Responsible for all aspects of the Physical Protection System (PPS), including video management system (VMS) and access control system (ACS).
- Assist the Corporate Security team with all aspects of security, including but not limited to preparation of risk assessments, investigations, training, and emergency response.
- Oversee and manage the Wealthsimple Security Integrator.
- Assist in the development of corporate security technical controls, policies and procedures.
- Provide operational technical support, and system expertise, to enhance the end user experience on the PPS and liaise with internal resources that support the PPS.
- Liaise with the necessary internal departments and our Security Integrator to complete root cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Be the first contact when troubleshooting PPS issues.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure proper technical documentation to provide a complete picture of existing infrastructure and conduct system audits.
- Complete and lead technical planning, testing and implementation of new technology.
- Organize and conduct annual penetration testing and follow-up correction of identified vulnerabilities.
- Assist with investigations.
- Liaise with law enforcement and other external partners, as required.
