Job description

WHY JOIN AIR INUIT

Every day, something extraordinary happens in the skies above Nunavik. At Air Inuit, we’re not just flying planes, we’re connecting communities, delivering essentials, and making a meaningful impact. We’re looking for dedicated individuals ready to take their careers to new heights. If you're driven by purpose and motivated by challenge, your journey starts here.

About Us

Since 1978, Air Inuit has been more than just an airline — it has been a lifeline. Born from the vision and resilience of the Inuit of Nunavik, and proudly owned through the Makivik Corporation, Air Inuit has connected communities across the vast, breathtaking expanse of Northern Quebec and beyond. Air Inuit’s aircraft have flown through some of the world’s most challenging skies — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

From the versatile Twin Otter to the powerful Boeing 737 800NG, a fleet of over 35 aircraft carries not just passengers and cargo, but stories, hopes, and essential services to the people of the Nunavik. Behind every flight is a team of over 1,200 dedicated professionals and each one committed to a shared mission : to operate with safety, reliability, and heart. Air Inuit is more than transportation. It’s a symbol of self‑determination, a bridge between tradition and progress, and a testament to what’s possible when a community takes flight together.

Role Overview

As a Flight Attendant at Air Inuit, you are the face of safety and comfort in the skies. Your mission is to ensure every passenger feels secure and cared for throughout their journey. Guided by the Flight Attendant Manual, you perform essential safety procedures, deliver clear announcements, and manage on‑board services with professionalism and poise. You actively contribute to the company’s Safety Management System and adapt to any additional duties assigned by the Chief Flight Attendant. This role demands vigilance, empathy, and the ability to create a positive travel experience—every flight, every time.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure passenger safety and comfort throughout every flight.
  • Execute all duties in alignment with the Air Inuit Flight Attendant Manual and regulatory standards.
  • Actively contribute to the company’s Safety Management System, fostering a culture of vigilance and care.
  • Deliver accurate safety announcements and demonstrations before take‑off, landing, and whenever required.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee on‑board services to create a seamless passenger experience.
  • Respond to evolving needs and perform additional tasks as directed by the Chief Flight Attendant.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Valid passport and ability to travel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Fluent in French and English; knowledge of Inuktitut is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with the public in a customer‑facing role.
  • Availability to complete and successfully pass the Transport Canada‑approved 6‑week training program in Montreal.
  • Flexible schedule : able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and be away from home for several days at a time.
  • Meets health requirements, including a pre‑employment medical evaluation and drug screening (legal and illegal substances).
  • Meets judicial requirements, including a pre‑employment criminal record check.
  • Professional appearance, reliability, and commitment to representing Air Inuit standards.
  • Compensation

  • Salary and benefits are determined according to company policy.
  • Entry salary of 43 477.50 $ on an annual basis and an increase after 6 months of continuous service.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Locations : Montreal‑based and travel through Air Inuit’s network (14 Nunavik communities and beyond)
  • Position Type : Permanent, full‑time
  • Compensation : Based on a 40‑hour work‑week
  • Schedule : 17 workdays with 11 non‑consecutive days off per month
  • Air Inuit’s Benefits At a Glance

  • Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
  • Group insurance plan (life, medical, dental, short‑term and long‑term disability).
  • 3‑weeks (6%) of vacation.
  • Telemedicine program for employee and family members.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employee and family members.
  • Flight privilege and discounted travel program with several airlines around the world.
  • Retirement allowance program.
  • And various innovative programs including exclusive corporate discounts, profit sharing and performance‑based compensation.
