JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Production Operations Manager at the Orenda Coatings facility in Brampton, Ontario, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for reporting on daily issues and downtime to the Manager. As business needs change, this list may be adapted.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWorks cooperatively in a team-oriented fashion to maintain, repair and fabricate machines, equipment, and devicesComplies with all Company safety policies, procedures and rulesAdheres to the Technical System Procedures and instructionsDevelops and maintains the Mechanical Preventative Maintenance program with management and production personnel and reports to management on the completion of the auditsMaintains the inventory of spare parts and requests replacements be ordered when items are consumedPerforms repairs in the plant and on plant equipment as assignedPerforms Preventative MaintenanceOperates lifting equipment such as Lift Truck, Crane, and Chain Hoist, to move, load or unload equipment as requiredOperates all maintenance related equipment including but not limited to Aerial lift, scissor lift, lathe, milling machine, and power toolsMay also be called upon to perform repair weldingActively participates in Continuous Improvement activitiesKnowledgeable of and follows safe working practicesMaintains a safe and tidy work areaEnsures the Standards of Section 28 of the OHSA are metPerforms other duties as assignedEDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEOne to two years practical experience or a minimum of five years related experienceAble to diagnose and remedying any mechanical, pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic problems on the shiftEFFORTExceptional planning and organizational skills in a high paced environmentStrong sense of urgencyEffective prioritization and multi-taskingRole requires strong combination of analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate quickly, clearly, and effectively across multiple levels of the organization, including orally presenting recommendations to Senior Management and the OwnershipHigh level of analytical and interpersonal skills requiredAbility to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentWORKING CONDITIONSRequired to adhere to and comply with environmental, health and safety rules/policies as related to the job function and business conduct guidelinesRequires wearing personal protective equipment (safety footwear, hearing protection, safety glasses) in appropriate areasAccessibility: J2 is proud to support the full inclusion of persons with disabilities as set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
