Job description

At Fiera Capital

We invest in creating a culture of purpose that makes our people feel valued, cared for, seen, and heard. Our approach to employee experience is tailored to your needs and ambitions:

  • Your Inclusive Experience: We are committed to cultivating an inclusive, safe, and trusting work environment.
  • Your Growth & Empowerment: We have ambitious growth goals for our firm, which makes us a great place to advance your career.
  • Your Rewards & Recognition: We deeply value our people and their contributions and that’s reflected in our competitive compensation and benefits packages and our collaborative culture.
  • Your Wellness Your Way: We strive to create a healthy work environment and we offer programs designed to support our employees’ wellbeing.

What we are looking for:

The Director, Corporate Development is responsible for supporting and executing the firm’s strategic growth agenda, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

The candidate will need to develop a detailed understanding of the business, including its value drivers, its cost structure and how it interacts with revenue and the synergies across the client base, the manufacturing platform and the different department to understand how M&A can add value to Fiera Capital.

Working closely with executive leadership, regional management, and cross‑functional teams, the Director, Corporate Development contributes to both inorganic and organic growth initiatives and provides analytical rigor to the evaluation of strategic opportunities across regions.

Your Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the development of the firm’s multi‑year strategic and financial plans.
  • Evaluate strategic options to support long‑term growth, profitability, and capital allocation objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and opportunities, competitive positioning, and regional dynamics to inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Support the translation of strategic priorities into clear financial and operational plans.

Corporate Development & M&A

  • Support and execute end‑to‑end M&A transactions, including target assessment, valuation, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Prepare investment cases, transaction analyses, and supporting materials for senior management and governance committees.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Tax, Global Investment Office) and external advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Assist in post‑transaction performance tracking against initial investment assumptions.

Valuation & Financial Modeling

  • Develop and review detailed valuation models, including discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analyses, and precedent transactions.
  • Assess strategic, financial, and risk implications of acquisition, divestiture, and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of key assumptions.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and robustness of valuation and financial modeling methodologies.

Organic Growth Monitoring

  • Monitor pipeline development versus targets and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with regional leadership to improve visibility and accountability on growth initiatives.
  • Prepare consolidated reporting and insights for senior management.

Predictive Modeling

  • Develop predictive models to support planning and strategic decisions.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses on key business drivers, including AUM and revenue growth, margins, costs, and capital deployment.
  • Provide forward‑looking insights to support executive and regional decision‑making.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred;
  • CFA or equivalent designation.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a similar M&A focused role
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction support.
  • Strong exposure to projections, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Experience within asset management, financial services, or a regulated financial environment is an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a complex, multinational organization.
  • Strong strategic and financial acumen
  • Strong presentation and story-telling skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and regions
  • High level of professionalism, judgment, and discretion
