Job descriptionA diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related discipline from a recognized educational technical institute. A combination of Grade 12 diploma and relevant work experience in municipal engineering may also be considered a qualification for this position. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution. Relevant experience in municipal design, construction, and administration is highly desirable. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Experience working with GIS (Geographical Information Systems). Familiarity with databases and database management is a strong asset. Excellent working knowledge of GPS based surveying and data collection. High level of experience and comfort in communicating with the public
The Town of Kindersley is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Technician to join our team. This dynamic position offers exposure to all areas of municipal engineering.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of essential municipal engineering functions, including :
- Project Development : Survey, design, and layout for the construction of various municipal projects.
- Inspection : Inspecting construction work performed by private contractors and Town Public Works staff.
- Permitting & Compliance : Assisting in issuing building permits in compliance with the Building Bylaw.
- Drafting & Documentation : Drafting construction plans, preparing a wide variety of municipal drawings, and preparing contract documents.
- Contract Administration : Assisting with contract administration.
- Administrative Support : Assisting in processing and recording building permits and the distribution of these statistics.
- Asset Management : Assist in development and implementation of a comprehensive infrastructure asset management plan.

We are looking for a professional who possesses a strong technical background and commendable planning, organizational, and communication skills.
