We are seeking an Accounting Associateon behalf of a client in the Truro area who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting the day-to-day operations of the business.This is an excellent opportunity to build your accounting career with a well-established company in the commercial equipment industry.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable
  • Review, verify, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely payments.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts payable obligations and assist with cash flow planning.
Accounting & Financial Support
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the monthly accounting cycle.
  • Prepare journal entries as required.
  • Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain the warranty payables subledger in collaboration with the Service team.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Process and reconcile employee expense reimbursements.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Cross-train to provide backup support for both Accounts Receivable and Equipment Coordination.
  • Maintain administrative tracking records, including company vehicles, employee training, corporate credit cards, and cell phones.
  • Coordinate employee training programs such as WHMIS, First Aid, and other required certifications.
  • Prepare accurate financial, sales, service, and operational reports for leadership.
What We’re Looking For
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of Accounting experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a professional approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Experience with CDK IntelliDealer and/or DocuWare is considered an asset.
