Job description
Software Requirements Engineer
As a Software Requirements Engineer at Sonova you will play a key role in coordinating creating and consolidating product development documentation for our regulated medical software. Working within the Software Department you will collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and R&D to translate user and business needs into clear actionable software specifications that help deliver life-changing hearing solutions.
Responsibilities :
Meet with stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of product requirements
Liaise with Product Managers to elicit analyze and document requirements for software projects including hearing aid firmware desktop fitting software and mobile applications
Coordinate with R&D teams to evaluate technical and timeline feasibility resolving requirement conflicts as needed
Translate requirements into unambiguous testable software specifications for development teams
Collaborate on process improvements documentation updates and cross-functional communication to ensure project success
Perform additional duties aligned with your skills to support software development outcomes
More about you :
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (Engineering Science or Software field preferred)
25 years of experience in business analysis or requirements engineering in a technology environment
Strong analytical communication and prioritization skills with excellent attention to detail
Effective collaborator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Experience in regulated software development lifecycles is an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Polarion is a plus
Knowledge of software usability principles or IREB CPRE-FL certification is an advantage
This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in-office attendance at our Kitchener ON location.
A minimum of 200Mb / sec download and 10Mb / sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote / hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.
