Our client is looking for a Controller for a 3 month contract

About the Opportunity

• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, statements on a monthly / quarterly basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Review monthly variance reporting, ensure compliance with all financial and accounting policies, procedures, and reporting systems

Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation

Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are remitted in a timely manner

Responsible for  proper accounting of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed off

Submit all financial and statutory reports to  comply with government funding, legislative and internal requirements

Responsible for the annual operating budget, capital planning process and Cash flow management

Evaluate the organization's technology needs, monitor risk management policies and  risk management procedures

About You

Professional accounting designation

Five to ten years of experience as Controller  or equivalent, preferably in a not-for profit or healthcare organization

Experience in  Community Services for Seniors’  sector

Strong accounting skills and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles - 8 plus years

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance team members

Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft application software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Pay Rate

65 / Hour
