Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including compliance, governance and performance management, including proactively managing contractual risks, resolving performance or compliance issues as they arise and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the life of each agreement ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive contract governance excellence and risk management by developing and enhancing centralized agreement management processes, identifying opportunities for contract optimization, and proactively mitigating commercial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Partner across the organization and with external stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Tax, Commercial Operations, developers, government agencies, and Indigenous communities to ensure successful contract compliance, and resolution of complex contractual matters.
  • Deliver business value and regulatory support through strategic analysis, contract enhancements, regulatory compliance oversight, and subject matter expertise that contribute to cost efficiencies, stronger partnerships, and successful regulatory outcomes.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, or a relevant field with 3-5 years in contract management, specifically within the energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract management and negotiation, with the ability to manage complex commercial agreements and achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and commercial principles within the energy sector, including an understanding of contractual terminology; knowledge of Renewable Gas and North American energy markets is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, foster collaboration, and build trusted partnerships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex technical, commercial, and contractual information, translating insights into clear recommendations and business decisions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience contributing to budget planning and management, while balancing commercial, operational, and regulatory priorities.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
