Senior AEM Developer & Consultant

OpenText Core Content & AEM)

We are seeking a Senior AEM Developer & Consultant with deep expertise in OpenText Core Content and strong experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The ideal candidate will have hands-on implementation experience with OpenText Core Content and OpenText Extended ECM, while also being knowledgeable in other CMS platforms such as Sitecore, Drupal, and WordPress.

This role involves working closely with enterprise clients, helping them design, implement, and optimize their content management ecosystems. You will architect scalable, high-performance solutions, ensuring seamless integration between CMS, digital asset management (DAM), enterprise applications, and cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, design, IT, and business stakeholders—to enhance digital experiences, streamline workflows, and ensure the scalability and security of CMS platforms.

This role starts as a consultant contractor with the potential to transition into a full-time position.

Who you are :

You are a CMS expert and digital experience strategist with deep expertise in OpenText Core Content & Extended ECM, alongside strong experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and knowledge of other CMS platforms such as Sitecore, Drupal, and WordPress.

Passionate about enterprise content management (ECM), digital transformation, and system integrations, you have hands-on experience configuring, developing, and optimizing OpenText Core Content and AEM to deliver seamless and scalable content experiences. You thrive in enterprise environments, working closely with IT, marketing, UX, and development teams to align CMS capabilities with business and compliance objectives.

As a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME), you provide best practices, strategic direction, and implementation guidance for content management, digital asset management (DAM), metadata structuring, and enterprise taxonomy. You are always exploring new CMS trends, headless CMS solutions, and cloud-based architectures, advocating for API-first content delivery, automation, and AI-powered content strategies.

Your ability to architect scalable CMS solutions, optimize performance, ensure security, and drive innovation makes you a key contributor to delivering next-generation, high-performing enterprise content management systems.

What you will be doing :

CMS Implementation & Development

  • Lead and architect CMS implementations, with a primary focus on OpenText Core Content and OpenText Extended ECM.
  • Implement AEM components, workflows, and content models to support enterprise content strategies.
  • Provide strategic consulting on CMS selection, migration, and integration, ensuring seamless interoperability with other business applications (ERP, CRM, DAM, Cloud Services).
  • Optimize content structure, metadata, and digital asset management (DAM) workflows across OpenText and AEM.
  • Develop custom extensions, templates, and modules to enhance CMS capabilities.
  • Implement headless CMS and API-driven content delivery for seamless omnichannel experiences.

Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize OpenText Core Content and AEM performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Conduct CMS audits and performance tuning, improving content rendering speeds and backend efficiency.
  • Implement CI / CD pipelines and automated testing to ensure smooth deployments.
  • Collaboration & Consulting

  • Act as a trusted CMS advisor, providing technical guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and content strategists to align CMS capabilities with business needs.
  • Lead technical workshops, CMS training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support pre-sales efforts, assisting in client pitches and CMS architecture design sessions.
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies

  • Stay ahead of OpenText Core Content, AEM, and headless CMS trends, driving innovation in content automation, personalization, and AI-powered content management.
  • Advocate for best practices in CMS security, accessibility (ADA / WCAG), and compliance.
  • Contribute to CMS strategy roadmaps, ensuring future-proof content management solutions.
  • Qualifications & Requirements :

    Must-Have :

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise content management (ECM) and CMS implementation.
  • Expertise in OpenText Core Content & Extended ECM, including configuration, customization, and integration.
  • Strong experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), particularly in AEM Sites, AEM Assets, and AEM Workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with CMS architecture, metadata structuring, taxonomy management, and content governance.
  • Proficiency in content modeling, headless CMS solutions, and API-driven content strategies.
  • Solid programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript, Python, or .NET for CMS customizations.
  • Experience integrating CMS with enterprise applications (SAP, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based CMS solutions (OpenText Cloud, Adobe Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices in CMS environments.
  • Experience implementing digital asset management (DAM) strategies and content lifecycle automation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver in Agile / Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Business Practitioner or equivalent CMS certifications
  • Nice to Have :

  • Experience working with financial services and fintech clients.
  • Experience working with Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress, or other CMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of document management and records management solutions.
  • CI / CD and DevOps experience (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with composable architecture and cloud-native content management.
  • Experience with AI-driven content automation, personalization, and NLP-based search.
  • Adobe Certified Expert (AEM) or OpenText Certified Consultant certification.
