Job descriptionA degree or diploma in forestry, along with registration or eligibility for registration with Forest Professionals BC. Relevant experience in planning activities such as cruising, block layout, and site plan preparation is preferred. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Familiarity with ArcGIS and information management systems would be considered an asset. Knowledge of the appraisal system and timber cruising processes would be considered an asset. A current class 5 driver’s licence. Competitive base salary with an annual bonus opportunity. The typical salary range for this position is $68,000 - $90,000, may vary depending on location, education, and relevant experience. You'll Do :
- Designing roads and cut blocks
- Administrating and supervising contracts (layout, cruising, and site assessments)
- Liaising with the Government and Indigenous Peoples
- Consulting stakeholders
- Incorporating social and cultural values into harvest area designs
- Preparing and submitting appraisals and cutting / road permit applications
- Developing Site Plans
