Requirements

P.Eng certification (Registered or eligible with Engineers and Geoscientists BC)
8+ years of experience in dam engineering and / or monitoring & surveillance of structures
Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Geological, Structural, or Civil Engineering
Class 5 Driver’s License
Strong preference for candidates with tailings background, particularly in mining, tailings management, or geotechnical consulting focused on embankment construction / dams
Located in either Castlegar, Fort St John or Hudson’s Hope, or willing to relocate

Responsibilities

Monitor dam safety conditions, ensuring performance meets design expectations

Implement, review, and update surveillance plans based on consequence classifications

Ensure dam operations meet safety requirements and identify potential risks

Oversee site inspections, train inspectors, and prepare compliance reports

Participate in dam safety reviews, deficiency investigations, and capital projects

Support emergency preparedness plans and regulatory submissions
