Job Description

Job Summary

Provide general labour support on construction sites by assisting tradespeople with material handling, site preparation and cleanup. Follow safety procedures and complete assigned tasks under supervision to help projects progress on schedule.

Main Duties

  • Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other trades with material handling and tool preparation
  • Load, unload and move construction materials, equipment and supplies on site
  • Prepare and maintain work areas by cleaning debris, removing hazards and disposing of waste
  • Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely to support trade-specific tasks
  • Assist with site layout, shoring, demolition and basic assembly under direction
  • Follow and report on health and safety procedures, including identifying and communicating hazards

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying and standing for long periods
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety and willingness to complete site-specific safety training (e.g., WHMIS, fall protection) as required
  • Experience using hand tools and basic power tools is an asset
  • Ability to read basic measurements, labels and work instructions
  • Reliable work attendance, punctuality and ability to follow supervision and instructions
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada and ability to provide references upon request
