Position Details:

Position: Casual Patient Watch Security Guard

Site: Valley Regional Hospital (Kentville), Soldier's Memorial Hospital (Middleton). A successful candidate must be able to travel between multiple locations.

Hours: Hours may vary site to site (example Days, Nights, Rotating Shifts)

Payrate: $ 20.50/hour

Key responsibilities:

• Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent self-harm or injury.
• Monitor and report any unusual behavior, incidents, or safety concerns to clinical and security staff.
• Maintain a respectful and non-invasive presence while observing patients.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals, following facility protocols and directions.
• De-escalate situations calmly and appropriately using non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
• Document observations and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to patient confidentiality regulations at all times.

Prerequisites:

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from CSA Approved provider.
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to stay alert and attentive for extended periods.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments and remain composed under pressure.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods and respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certification can opt into Paladin's MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the certification with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
