Job description

Position Summary

: An introductory course designed to familiarize the student with modern software development techniques. Emphasis is on problem-solving and structured program design methodologies. Programming projects are implemented in a widely used high-level language.

Course Delivery

WLIC offers this lab with an in-person mode of delivery.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate (via teaching dossier and interview) knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of chemistry laboratories; including, but not limited to:

  • Providing engaging and interactive laboratory instruction including best practices for assessments.
  • Use course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative learning community with and between students in the course.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work.
  • Respond to student academic and course administration inquiries in a timely manner and refer students to technical support or student support when appropriate.
  • Support academic integrity in the creation and administration of assignments, tests, and exams.

Qualifications – Required: Master’s Degree

  • PhD would be an asset.
  • Previous experience teaching international students would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in HyFlex teaching would be considered an asset.
  • Instructors must agree to teach this course with a HyFlex mode of delivery.

Salary:$5,673.56 for teaching the lab component @3 hour and 20 minutes labs per week x12 weeks
