Our exciting client is looking for a Human Resource Specialist to join their team in Ottawa, Ontario. As the HR Specialist, you will be a key player in providing advice and interpretation on collective agreements, as well as representing members in redress procedures and disciplinary meetings. You will also be tasked with conducting research, maintaining labour relations reports, and developing informational tools for members.
Responsibilities :
- Providing first-line advice and interpretation on collective agreements and arbitral awards
- Representing members in both informal and formal redress procedures, including grievances, complaints, and mediations
- Attending executive or governing council meetings as necessary
- Participating in disciplinary meetings as required
- Generating summary reports on the labour relations portfolio for management and executive members
- Conducting research and drafting notices and pleadings
- Delivering oral and / or written submissions
- Participating in labour-management meetings and other activities related to the AJC’s Representation Services
- Offering labour relations training and advice to elected officials
- Creating informational tools for members as needed
