Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Community Engagement Worker to join our organization on a fulltime basis (35 hours per week). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our mission by engaging with the community and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing and coordinating community events, workshops, and seminars aimed at empowering and supporting Black youth.
- Establishing partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to expand the reach and impact of Future Black Female initiatives.
- Developing and implementing outreach programs to engage with Black women in the community, including mentorship programs, networking events, and educational sessions.
- Managing social media platforms to promote community engagement activities, share resources, and raise awareness about issues affecting Black youth.
- Advocating for the needs and interests of Black women in the community through lobbying, awareness campaigns, and participation in community forums.
- Collaborating with other community organizations and stakeholders on projects and initiatives that align with the mission and goals of Future Black Female.
- Collecting feedback from community members and participants to assess the effectiveness of programs and identify areas for improvement.
Experience
The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in outreach and facilitation, particularly focusing on youth engagement. Experience in designing and implementing community programs that effectively reach and empower racialized, marginalized, and discriminated communities is essential. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to build trust and establish strong relationships within these communities.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Communications, or a related discipline is often preferred.
