Share information best practices and resources with colleagues. Post secondary degree or diploma in counselling psychology social sciences or a related field with a minimum of two years experience in family education / support or work with at risk families. Demonstrated experience in facilitation content design adult learning or related areas. Experience delivering prenatal parenting youth or early years programs. Credentials such as Nobodys Perfect Parenting Program Facilitator or other trainer certifications are considered strong assets. Strong skills in adult learning design partnership development and data informed practice. Ability to travel within the region; a valid drivers license is an asset. Hours : 35 per week. Hybrid but must be available if needed on site. Start date : April 1 Position length : 18 months Rate of pay : $24.91 Membership for self and family to YMCA facilities Paid vacation wellness days and family responsibility time Extended health and dental benefits Provide 3 references of a professional nature (Ex. employer supervisor colleague teacher coach etc.) Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date. Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Community Programs the Community Programs Facilitator is responsible for delivering established and emerging programs including prenatal and parenting initiatives and for supporting the expansion of professional development opportunities for social service and early years professionals such as CCRR. The role contributes to organizational capacity through curriculum development training and resource creation aligned with identified community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured workshops on prenatal and postnatal topics life skills and wellness for families youth and adults.
- Support the enhancement of evidence based family and youth programs by contributing to curriculum development.
- Codesign pilot and facilitate prenatal and parenting programs including Nobodys Perfect Parenting and evidence based curricula such as YMind.
- Plan and deliver professional development for community service and early years professionals including ECE training Mental Health First Aid and Positive Youth Development.
- Advance program quality through family centred strength based trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.
- Use data and participant feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with partners across child care health social and community service sectors to codevelop content.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality set boundaries and uphold safety standards.
