Local News Producer - Rogers TV

Who we're looking for :

We’re looking for a dedicated Local News Producer with a passion for local affairs and an interest to collaborate with community members to bring outstanding local content to our viewers in the Penticton region.

What you'll do :

• Produce relevant local news content with high production quality.
• Research, develop, and pitch story ideas to Station Manager for approval.
• Deliver content to Master Control, ensuring accurate associated metadata in the scheduling and distribution system.
• Engage local creators and mentor volunteers to strengthen community programming.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local community.
• Stay up to date of the available production equipment, participating in training sessions as new equipment is introduced.
• Work collaboratively, cultivating positive working relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues.

What you bring :

To protect our people, brand and assets, a pre-employment background check will be conducted. As part of our selection process, all candidates must clear a criminal background check. Additionally, a credit check and drivers abstract may be required depending on the role.

Schedule : Full time

Shift : Variable

Length of Contract : 12 Months

Work Location : 1372 Fairview Road (7769), Penticton, BC

Travel Requirements : Up to 10%
