We are seeking a skilled Controls Specialist (PLC Programming) for one of our automotive manufacturing clients in the Hamilton region.
Pay - 60K-80K
Responsibilities:
-
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled automation systems used in automotive manufacturing.
-
Work with PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems.
-
Diagnose and resolve issues related to robotics, sensors, drives, and automated production equipment.
-
Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new automation equipment.
-
Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades on control systems.
-
Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime.
-
Review electrical drawings, control schematics, and system documentation.
-
Assist with HMI programming and troubleshooting when required.
-
Ensure all automation systems follow company safety and quality standards.
Requirements:
-
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
-
Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
-
Experience working with automated assembly lines or robotic systems in the automotive industry.
-
Knowledge of HMI, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks.
-
Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
