Job description

Requisition ID: 266365

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Role

As Director, Derivative Settlements, you lead the global operating model supporting OTC derivatives and commodity settlements across GBM and Group Treasury. You are responsible for end-to-end settlement operations, including cash flows, valuations, client servicing, and post-settlement controls, while driving process standardization, control enhancements, and technology-enabled transformation at scale.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Oversee end-to-end settlement operations for OTC derivatives and commodities across global regions
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of cashflows, valuations (MTM), client queries, claims, and specialized payments
  • Act as escalation point for operational issues impacting service delivery, controls, or client experience
  • Lead incident management and operational response during system or platform disruptions
  • Drive operating model optimization, including process standardization, scalability, and global consistency
  • Lead strategic initiatives and technology transformation to improve efficiency, capacity, and control strength
  • Increase straight-through processing by reducing manual touchpoints and strengthening control frameworks
  • Identify control gaps, operational risks, and process inefficiencies; implement corrective actions
  • Establish and monitor KPIs/KRIs to track performance, risk, and service quality
  • Partner with Technology, Front Office, Finance, and Risk teams to support system implementations and business growth initiatives
  • Oversee global teams and ensure consistent service delivery across jurisdictions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Prior experience in capital markets operations, with deep expertise in derivatives or commodity settlements
  • Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives processes, post-trade lifecycle, and settlement flows (cashflows, MTM, claims, collateral/payments)
  • Experience leading global or multi-region operations teams, including BAU delivery and risk management
  • Experience driving operating model transformation, process redesign, and technology implementation
  • Proven ability to improve straight-through processing, standardization, and operational efficiency
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory requirements within capital markets
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Technology, Front Office, Finance, Risk)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and operational/reporting tools
  • Spanish language capability is an asset

What’s in it for you?

  • A rewarding career path with diverse opportunities for professional development
  • An organization committed to making a difference in our communities – for you and our customers.
  • A competitive rewards program including bonus, flexible vacation, personal and sick days, and comprehensive benefits that start on your first day.
