Company Description

If you’re looking for more, you’ve come to the right place.

From the moment we opened our doors in 1981, we knew we wanted to be different. The people who work here are special, and that’s what makes us special. Our team members uphold the standards we set long ago by making the exceptional everyday, building relationships with our customers and with each other, and finding a place where their potential meets opportunity.

Job Description

Be part of what makes us different.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the in-house print shop, ensuring the efficient production, finishing, and distribution of high-quality printed materials that support store operations and internal business partners. This role manages production workflows, prioritizes print requests, oversees budgeting and inventory, and ensures operational excellence through effective planning, quality control, and service delivery. Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:

  • Oversee all aspects of print shop operations, including: digital press production, wide-format printing, finishing, packaging, and distribution to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate and prioritize print requests, production schedules, and workflow to meet business requirements and service level expectations.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot digital press and finishing equipment while monitoring production quality and ensuring adherence to brand standards.
  • Review and prepare production files, layouts, and specifications to ensure print readiness and accurate execution.
  • Manage print shop inventory, including: ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and supporting uninterrupted operations.
  • Support departmental budgeting by monitoring expenses, processing invoices, forecasting supply requirements, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver high-quality print solutions and exceptional service.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to overall team success by taking on additional related responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table.

We provide the opportunity, and you bring the potential.

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Typically requires post-secondary education in Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, Business, or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing or coordinating print production operations in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of digital press equipment, wide-format printers, and print finishing equipment, including laminators and guillotines.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Strong working knowledge of both PC and Mac operating environments.
  • Experience with Fiery print management software and other RIP engines.
  • Knowledge of colour management processes, including ICC profiles and colour-matching software, is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and with external vendors.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/production environment that involves extended periods of standing, repetitive movement or tasks, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working amid warehouse noise and interruptions.
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
