An exciting opportunity has opened up with our international Mining Chemicals client.
In support of our client's growth and expansion, we are recruiting a Business Development Metallurgist to join our clients’ team in Canada. The incumbent will deliver on the growth plans and be a part of their exciting future.
This key role reports to the in-country General Manager (Matrix reporting to Mining Chemicals functional departments) and is responsible for developing business and identifying opportunities in new territories, through market development and technical knowledge application. In addition, the role will focus on the development of new business, new markets, technological advancement of current business, new services AND the planning and pursuit of strategic opportunities in the Mining Chemicals Division. The ability to cultivate partnerships, including commercial relationships, will be crucial for the success of this position.
Important Core Competencies and Qualifications :
- Metallurgy Diploma / Degree
- 10+ years’ experience within the mining chemicals / mining / chemical technology or related industries
- Key business development experience
- Must be a CANADIAN CITIZEN
- Bilingual ENGLISH $ FRENCH speaking candidates will be preferred
- 5+ years general management and project management experience
- Detailed understanding of extractive metallurgy processes
- Ability to conduct lab tests and plant trials on the above processes
- Good knowledge of the market and professional relationships
- Excellent communication interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and innovative thinking skills to identify opportunities
- Independent and self-motivated with the ability to work in teams and independently
