Job description

System Walkdown Specialist – Bantrel Co.

bantrel is a leading provider of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Construction Management (EPC / EPCM) services in Canada. For 40 years we have delivered end‑to‑end solutions for some of Canada’s most challenging and complex energy, mining, infrastructure, and nuclear projects, with an unrelenting focus on safety and quality. Bantrel delivers design and procurement services from our primary Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto office locations and provides construction management and self‑perform construction services at various client sites across Canada. Bantrel operates independently but leverages the global expertise of its affiliate Bechtel Corporation, one of the largest EPC companies in the world, while remaining Canadian‑focused. Our private ownership supports long‑term business planning.

  • Attend and lead final walk‑downs in the field; attend pre‑final walk‑down meetings and post‑walk‑down punch categorization meetings.
  • Support closure of facility punch lists according to project procedures and the Turnover Lead’s direction.
  • Participate in HBJV & BHP organization and Construction Contractor site meetings as required.
  • Identify potential final walk‑down problem areas and trends.
  • Communicate significant problem areas with final walks to construction contractors, commissioning team, and project team members and propose solutions.
  • Participate in all training required by BHP.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in turnover and commissioning, start‑up, and / or operation of large industrial systems or facilities for a mining or oil & gas facility.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
