Job description

GE Environmental, a division of the Municipal Group of Companies, is an environmental services company that has been servicing the South Shore since 1984. Specializing in the collection and transport of garbage and recycling and offering a wide range of equipment and containers. We are currently seeking Helpers to join our team based in Bridgewater, NS. This position is a on a 4 day work week schedule (Tuesday-Friday).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload waste materials under varying traffic and road conditions
  • Collect garbage and recycling materials from residential properties
  • Be aware of surroundings at all times
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Ensure safety of fellow employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 40lbs independently
  • Previous waste and or recycling experience is considered an asset but not necessary
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
