Founded in 1904, St. Charles Country Club is one of Manitoba’s oldest and most respected private golf clubs, offering 27 holes of championship golf, a proud tradition of hospitality, and a focus on upscale food & beverage experiences. As we continue to enhance our dining and event experiences, we are seeking a passionate and service-driven Food & Beverage Manager to lead the day-to-day front of house operations and service culture of the Club.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Clubhouse Manager, the Food & Beverage Manager will oversee all front-of-house service operations, ensuring excellence across à la carte dining, member events, golf tournaments, weddings, and various private functions. You will be the hands-on leader of service at the Club—developing your team, driving hospitality standards, and delivering genuine, personalized experiences that reflect the values and high standards of St. Charles and our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the floor during service, setting the tone for attentiveness, professionalism, and warmth.
- Be a visible and approachable presence in dining areas, engaging with members to build relationships and respond to feedback in real time.
- Set clear expectations and train staff on service standards, sequence, and etiquette for both casual and formal dining experiences.
- Champion the Club’s beverage program, developing thoughtful cocktail, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings and ensuring consistency and staff knowledge.
- Work closely with the Culinary Team to ensure food presentation, pace of service, and member preferences are consistently delivered.
- Team Development & Culture
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor a passionate, service-first front-of-house team.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
- Ensure new staff are properly onboarded and existing team members receive regular performance feedback and recognition.
- Empower your team to take ownership of the guest experience and lead with professionalism.
- Step into server or bartender roles when needed to maintain service levels and support your team.
- Operations & Event Execution
- Schedule and manage staff based on service demands, with close attention to labour cost control.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of all front-of-house spaces and equipment.
- Play a key role in the planning and flawless execution of events.
- Maintain accurate POS systems and ensure menu updates are reflected promptly.
- Administration & Planning
- Create and execute enticing member events that foster engagement and camaraderie amongst the membership.
- Meet with event organizers to plan personalized and memorable events.
- Monitor inventory and ordering of F&B products and supplies to manage cost of goods sold, minimize waste, and maintain consistent availability.
- Ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Represent the department in committee meetings and work collaboratively with senior leadership to meet Club goals.
- Participate in planning for future F&B improvements and capital needs.
