The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a passion for early childhood education.Responsibilities : Change diapersFollow parents’ lead with toilet trainingSterilize bottles and prepare formulasAssume full responsibility for household in absence of parentsPerform light housekeeping and cleaning dutiesShop for food and household suppliesTravel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping dutiesWash, iron and press clothing and household linensBathe, dress and feed infants and childrenDiscipline children according to the methods requested by the parentsInstruct children in personal hygiene and social developmentKeep records of daily activities and health information regarding childrenMaintain a safe and healthy environment in the homeOrganize, activities such as games and outings for childrenPrepare and serve nutritious mealsPrepare infants and children for rest periodsSupervise and care for childrenTake children to and from school and to appointmentsTend to emotional well-being of childrenHelp children with homeworkQualifications : - Previous experience in a childcare setting is preferred- Experience with special needs childrenAutistic childrenChildren with an intellectual disabilityChildren with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)Children with learning disabilities- Strong caregiving skills and patience- Certification in CPR and First Aid- Reference & Basic security clearance is required.- Yoruba language speaking is an assetJob Types : Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length : 24 monthsPay : $17.80 per hourExpected hours : 40 per weekSchedule : HolidaysMonday to FridayMorning shiftNight shiftWeekends as neededAbility to commute / relocate : Red Deer County, AB T4E 3C9 : reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)Application question(s) : 1.
