The Interprofessional Development team is rich in skills and knowledge, diverse in roles and outcomes, and consistently involved in education, evaluation, research and innovation initiatives. We rally together around common goals in line with HHS’ vision, mission and strategic priorities. Relationships and work touch all clinical areas of HHS, and our networks are extensive both internally and externally. McMaster University and Mohawk College are significant collaborators in our daily work. The Interprofessional Development team is positioned within the Nursing Practice, Education and Community Health portfolio and supports HHS staff and learners with their education, professional development and practice needs. Services provided include staff education and development; learner placements; libraries, Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) programs and Ministry Health Human Resource initiatives.
Position Summary
As a member of the health care team, the Education Clinician, teaches, plans, develops, implements and evaluates education and development programs to enhance clinical proficiency, quality improvement and team skills. Facilitates and expedites continuous learning and professional development through coaching and / or mentoring of staff and clients. Facilitates appropriate coordination of resources to meet identified education and development needs.
The Education Clinician is assigned to support the Nursing Resource Team (NRT) and Clinical Resource Team (CRT), which are interdisciplinary staffing teams that plays a vital role in the provision of nursing and healthcare services across patient care programs at HHS. The NRT / CRT are comprised of very skilled nurses (RN / RPNs) & healthcare professionals (Health Care Aides, Social Workers) trained and capable of being deployed to provide high quality care to a wide range of patient populations, including critical care & pediatrics, across all seven (7) sites at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS). The Education Clinician is a part of a corporate education resource team also supporting central education programs and must be able to work at all sites of HHS.

Qualifications
1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Master's degree preferred.
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical-surgical nursing within the last 3 years
4. Minimum 3 years’ experience critical care nursing within the last 2 years preferred
5. Minimum 1 year recent experience in adult education within the last 2 years
6. Demonstrated experience as a preceptor of staff and / or students
7. Demonstrated proficiency in the mentoring and development of staff
8. Demonstrated experience in evaluation of learning activities specific to individual, team, and organizational performance
9. Evidence of ability to develop, conduct, and evaluate educational programs to learners from a variety of health care disciplines
10. Recent (in the past 2 yrs) demonstrated ability and experience as an educator in developing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating education programs; and managing / sustaining compliance for multiple large projects and initiatives
11. Demonstrated ability to deal efficiently and effectively with conflicting demands in a fast paced, complex environment
12. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
13. Evidence of continuous commitment to ongoing education
14. Formal Simulation training or certification from a recognized organization (e.g. Simulation Canada).
15. Demonstrated experience in development of simulation scenarios, debriefing techniques, and the use of simulation technology (e.g. patient simulators)
16. Current BLS certification
