A valid Canadian driver's license is required. Salary Range : $26.33 - $29.44 per hourYOUR FOCUSReporting to the Security Operations Supervisor, the Patrol Supervisor is responsible for the security of university property and the safety and security of staff, faculty, students, and visitors while on campus.Monitor, supervise and ensure patrol personnel are aware of any specific instructions or events taking place relative to the area they have been detailed to work.Check traffic and road conditions. Have service personnel notified of road conditions if maintenance is required for snow removal, sanding, etc.Respond to emergency calls such as fire alarms, flooding, requests for medical assistance, persons stuck in malfunctioning elevators, vehicle accidents, trouble indicator warnings etc.Check and secure buildings not on the regular security patrol rounds as well as areas which would normally be checked by the security patrol if they are absent due to sickness, leave, etc., and adjustments to the shift cannot be accommodated.Provide security for the transportation of university monies to the Bank daily by personally providing an escort to the University staff who are responsible for such deposits.Perform traffic enforcement duties by issuing violation tickets and having vehicles towed when the situations dictate.Investigate and complete Employee and Student Accident report forms for all accidents that happen on the campus grounds or in buildings that do not have a specific person responsible for such buildings.Provide necessary training for new security patrol and monitor progress.Perform other duties as required.WHAT YOU BRINGHigh school diploma or equivalent.5 years experience in the performance of security-related duties in a university / college setting or similar experience in a law enforcement / security setting.Additional StrengthsPrevious supervisory experience and asset.Accreditations in management / leadership studies, security training, certificates, diplomas, and related diplomas / degrees with a concentration in law and / or criminology would be an asset.Ability to communicate in French would be an asset.First Aid, WHMIS, and CPR certification an asset.Strong decision-making, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of security reporting and technological systems including CCTV.Ability to use the internet and web-based applications.About University of New BrunswickThe University of New Brunswick employs more than 3,200 full- and part-time staff, including faculty, support staff and students.
