How You Will Make an Impact
- The primary responsibility of this role at Good Shepherd Centre's involves upholding the organization's mission, vision, and values in all aspects of work. The job requires the delivery of dignified, culturally competent service within an anti-racism / anti-oppression framework. The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for providing quality nursing care.
- This includes collecting and analyzing data about residents' physical and psycho-social status, formulating nursing diagnoses based on scientific knowledge, planning and implementing care interventions, and evaluating patient responses. The role also entails responding professionally under high-pressure situations, maintaining focus during frequent interruptions, and continually adjusting priorities.
- Key duties also include meticulous documentation of all patient-related information, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and confidentiality protocols. Effective communication with team members and coordinating appropriate interventions is crucial.
- The role involves educating patients and staff, assisting physicians, administering medication, and evaluating patient responses to treatments. The candidate must maintain knowledge of equipment and supplies, manage resources prudently, and provide leadership to various staff members. In the absence of the Program Manager, responsibilities expand to include referral coordination, discharge planning, and ensuring seamless patient admissions.
- Professional development through continuing education and adherence to ethical standards is required. The role also necessitates attending staff meetings, adhering to organizational policies, working rotating shifts as scheduled, and performing additional duties as directed by the Program Manager.
- Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
