Job description

At Iron Mountain we know that work, when done well, makes a positive impact for our customers, our employees, and our planet. That’s why we need smart, committed people to join us. Whether you’re looking to start your career or make a change, talk to us and see how you can elevate the power of your work at Iron Mountain.

We provide expert, sustainable solutions in records and information management, digital transformation services, data centers, asset lifecycle management, and fine art storage, handling, and logistics. We proudly partner every day with our 225,000 customers around the world to preserve their invaluable artifacts, extract more from their inventory, and protect their data privacy in innovative and socially responsible ways.

Are you curious about being part of our growth story while evolving your skills in a culture that will welcome your unique contributions? If so, let's start the conversation.

Iron Mountain is seeking a dynamic Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources Service Delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert consultation and execution on complex Employee Relations (ER) matters, independently managing escalated cases from initiation through to resolution. You will play a critical role in mitigating risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive, productive work environment across the organization.

The Human Resources Service Delivery team focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality, and timely support across various HR functions to the entire Iron Mountain workforce.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Manage complex Tier 3 employee relations (ER) cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, policy breaches, performance management, driver standards, agency claims, unemployment matters, and terminations—assessing risk and escalating to Legal as needed while maintaining complete case documentation.
  • Serve as escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 queries, providing expert guidance and ensuring timely, accurate resolution of advanced ER issues.
  • Partner with internal and external legal advisors on ER reporting, case strategy, compliance, and risk assessment, ensuring alignment with legal requirements.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, consultation, and feedback to people managers, supporting day-to-day employee issues and strengthening ER capability across the organization.
  • Conduct employee and ethics line investigations, issuing termination documents where needed and processing unemployment-related actions.
  • Review and improve ER processes and documentation, ensuring consistency across specialists and elevating needs for updates or creation of new procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources (HR), with a deep, demonstrated functional knowledge and expertise in complex Employee Relations case management.
  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment regulations as well as proven ability in exceptional conflict resolution, analysis, and problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis and provide sound decision-making in high-pressure situations.
  • Bi-Lingual : English / French language proficiency is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with the experience.
  • Paid time off / holidays.
  • Flexible work options / alternative work options to support work–life balance.
  • Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement plans.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • If you are a resourceful and experienced Employee Relations professional ready to make a significant impact on our organization, apply today to join the Iron Mountain team!
