Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (other disciplines encouraged to apply if practicing Civil Engineering) Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a background in municipal Infrastructure (water, sewer, storm sewer, retention ponds, road design) to join our group in St John’s. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to lead a team and plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of civil projects.
A Day in the Life
As it relates to the provision of services to the NL Provincial Municipal Infrastructure and the Municipality Clients, your responsibilities will be to :
- Follow the procedures laid out by the NL Municipal Infrastructure Dept to complete a project.
- Manage a variety of projects such as infrastructure upgrades and subdivision developments, including design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications
- Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation
- Build business relationships with current and potential clients
- Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations
- Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
- Create a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors
- Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise
