Job descriptionBachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering in Quebec or Canada Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, ideally with practical experience as a surveyor or foreman. Solid understanding of construction methods and the stages of a civil engineering project. Excellent ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and technical documents. Proficiency in computer tools, particularly estimation software (e.g. : AutoCAD, Bluebeam, etc.). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Analytical approach and attention to detail. Direct experience on construction sites. Certification or training in project management, estimating or related fields. Competitive salary ($75,000 - $100,000 depending on experience). Job description
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the construction field, particularly as a surveyor or foreman, and a solid knowledge of site operations.
You will play a key role in evaluating the costs of civil engineering projects by preparing accurate and detailed estimates. Your expertise will help ensure that our projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and to quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates for civil engineering projects, taking into account plans, specifications and other documents.
- Evaluate labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements.
- Analyze bids and collaborate with stakeholders to validate budgets.
- Develop detailed reports on estimates and propose cost optimization strategies.
- Participate in project planning and monitoring to ensure that deadlines and budgets are met.
- Work closely with site teams to understand field realities and provide support technical.
