Job description
Adecco is currently hiring an Estimator / Project Manager - Asphalt & Paving for a full-time opportunity based across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), ON. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional with strong expertise in both estimating and managing paving projects, looking to take ownership of projects from bid through to completion.
As an Estimator / Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of asphalt and paving projects, including cost estimation, planning, execution, and financial management. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Pay Rate: $130,000 - $150,000/year
  • Location: GTA, ON (Site-based)
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (with flexibility as needed)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage paving and asphalt projects from initial bid through to completion
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to develop competitive bids
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather key information for estimating
  • Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor timelines to ensure on-time delivery
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Track project budgets, costs, and progress to ensure financial targets are met
  • Identify and resolve project risks, delays, or issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Manage contract negotiations, change orders, and project documentation
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates
  • Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and financial documentation
  • Prepare reports on project performance, costs, and overall progress
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction estimating and project management
  • Strong experience within the asphalt and paving industry
  • Proficiency with estimating software and project management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgets, and cost controls
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites across Ontario
