DOXA & St. Andrews Presbyterian Youth Director and Outreach Worker
Are you passionate about seeing young people thriving in their day-to-day lives? Are you passionate about disciple-making and local church youth ministry? Our DOXA team, a ministry of Youth Unlimited GTA, in partnership with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is hiring a youth director and outreach worker to help us increase the encouragement we can bring to young people in Scarborough and beyond.
About DOXA
DOXA began as a Scarborough youth ministry network in 2006 with the belief that we are stronger as a connected body of believers. Since our inception, we have brought churches and youth ministries together for greater kingdom impact both locally and globally. We focus on large group outreach (DOXA Gatherings), service and mission experiences (DOXA Journeys), and discipleship seminars to effectively train leaders and students (DOXA Equip).
The St. Andrew’s Youth Director and DOXA Outreach worker will join a dynamic DOXA staff team of youth workers providing key support in the area of youth ministry and community outreach focusing on Jr. High and High School young people.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide opportunities for youth disciple-making, mentoring, and coaching by maintaining administrative and personal contact with students (i.e. home visits, lunch, school visits, sporting events).
- Oversee and provide direct leadership to the senior and junior high youth ministries of St. Andrews and oversee the summer DOXA Camps at St. Andrews.
- Work alongside the St. Andrew's Youth Oversight Committee by recruiting and training adult volunteers to work with Jr. high & High School Ministry.
- Integrate the St. Andrew’s young people into DOXA and its various programs by nurturing parental support through clear communication, active parental involvement in the youth program and seminars for parents.
- Fully participate in all facets of the DOXA program (ie. Team meetings, youth gatherings and programs, networking, and attending a DOXA Journeys mission experience like Serpent River and / or the Dominican Republic).
- Oversee the development and implementation of local community outreach initiatives with your supervisor and the DOXA team.
- Seek to develop partnerships with local organisations that will help build missional relationships in our local community (DOXA Journeys GTA).
