Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Work Location: Jarvis, Ontario – Hybrid

TheRole

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, accountable for the overall operational performance of Nova’s organization, defining and delivering operational excellence, strategies, and capabilities across the enterprise.

The COO is a key contributor to the company’s strategy and planning process and is responsible for driving operations and innovations that support sustainable growth and an outstanding member experience. In close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, the COO translates the company’s strategic vision into executable operational plans and measurable outcomes.

The role provides leadership to Underwriting, Claims, and Products & Pricing teams ensuring operational excellence, disciplined risk selection, fair claims outcomes, and a competitive, member-focused product portfolio aligned with the company’s strategy.

The COO provides regular data driven insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors on operational performance, risk, and execution of the strategic plan.

This position follows a hybrid work model and requires the successful candidate to work onsite at Nova Mutual’s head office in Jarvis, Ontario at least once per week.

Salary Range: $164,000 – $196,800

The listed salary range is an estimate for this role. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity. DGA Careers and our client partners strive to offer fair, competitive pay that reflects each individual’s background and value.
