Salary : $29 / hour
POSITION TITLE : PLANT OPERATOR
Reports to : Plant Manager
Location : Etobicoke
EcoVac Solutions Ltd. owns and operates a facility in Toronto to receive and process liquid soil from hydrovac (daylighting) trucks. The liquid soil is processed into reusable stone, sand, clay and treated water.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Operator plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of EcoVacs Etobicoke industrial site performing required daily activities safely.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate plant equipment including : the start and stop of equipment, simple troubleshooting and making adjustments as necessary
- Operate heavy equipment including : pay loader, bobcat, sit-down forklift and scissor lift
- Load, unload and transport materials using heavy equipment.
- Greeting drivers and providing direction for safe unloading
- General daily housekeeping and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) such as cleaning, sweeping, pressure washing, etc.
- Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and to ensure plant systems are operating normally.
- Assist Plant Manager and Operators in trouble shooting machinery problems
- Daily lubrication and preventative maintenance of all required machinery
- Taking samples for routine soil testing
- May perform minor maintenance or assist with repair of plant machinery
- May repair machinery using hand tools and power tools.

- Participate in corporate safety initiatives and procedures
