Joining Suncor means you will work for one of the best companies in Canada, providing tremendous future potential where talented people thrive and lead. As our business evolves, so do our employment opportunities. Our work culture includes a dynamic mix of professionals, with a diversity of skills and expertise.

We are seeking an experienced Incident, Problem & Change Management Analyst who will play a key role in governing and improving core D&IT processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Digital Solution Intake, and Knowledge Management. This role ensures consistent process execution across IT teams, enhances service reliability, and supports enterprise-wide risk reduction. Acting as a senior facilitator for major incidents and complex investigations, the analyst partners with internal teams and vendors to restore services and drive operational excellence.

In this role, you will lead the facilitation of major incidents, root cause investigations, and change governance while driving service reliability and continuous improvement across the enterprise. You’ll partner closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure consistent process adoption, operational transparency, and effective risk mitigation.

In this position, the analyst leads major incident response, root cause investigations, change governance, and continuous improvement initiatives across D&IT. The role requires strong ITIL / ITSM knowledge, experience with ServiceNow IPC modules, and excellent communication and influencing skills. Candidates should bring 5+ years of IT operations experience, with ITIL v4 and Kepner‑Tregoe foundations preferred. The successful candidate will guide teams, mentor peers, and support executive reporting to enhance transparency and service performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations or similar technical support environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the ITIL framework and ITSM best practices; ITIL v4 Foundation preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow ITSM / IPC modules (administration or development experience is an asset).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills; able to work across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience leading major incidents, problem investigations, or change governance; Kepner‑Tregoe Foundations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare reports and dashboards for leadership audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and participate in an after‑hours escalation rotation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Govern and continuously improve core IPCK processes : Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Digital Solution Intake, and Knowledge Management.
  • Facilitate Priority 1 & 2 incident resolution, major investigations, and root cause analysis across multi‑vendor technical teams.
  • Chair Change Advisory Board meetings and oversee approval cycles, postmortems, and process compliance.
  • Monitor process health, analyze trends, and report on KPIs to identify risks and drive proactive improvements.
  • Mentor operational teams, support process adoption, and collaborate with vendors to ensure consistent and effective execution.
  • Contribute to the development of process standards and continuous improvement roadmaps within the IPCK leadership team.
  • Location and Key Details

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday, with requirement to be available for on‑call coverage for incident response based on rotation schedule.
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work.
  • Why Suncor?

Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro‑Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast‑to‑coast network of fast‑charging electric vehicle stations). With a strong strategy for growth and our long‑standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career. We offer rewarding opportunities for you to learn, contribute and grow in a variety of career‑building positions – all of which means tremendous potential for your future. We are focused on deepening our commitment to inclusion and diversity and creating a respectful workplace.

We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from all qualified individuals. We are committed to providing a diverse and inclusive work environment where every employee feels valued and respected. We have numerous employee inclusion networks to help foster an inclusive and respectful culture and drive positive change within Suncor. Current networks include both workplace inclusion networks (focusing on inclusion and respect for all), and identity‑focused networks (focusing on building community and a sense of belonging and allyship). Through the Journey of Reconciliation, we are progressing the way we think and act to build greater mutual trust and respect with the Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Please note we will consider accessibility accommodations to applicants upon request.
