Our client has an immediate opening for a Data Centre Manager to join their team in Vancouver.
In your new role as a Data Centre Manager, you will work for a major connectivity hub with well- established existing legacy colocation and meet-me rooms that is now expanding with brand new colocation and powered shell offerings. You will build and manage the future team of technicians to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the operations.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with Operations Team, Business Development, Sales, Project Management
Collaborate with Data Centre Administrator to manage colocation customer support and interaction after the initial contract signing
Manage implementation and assignments of new customer racks, cabinets, cages, panels and conduits
Coordinate installation of power and data cables for customer environments
Responsible for managing power infrastructure including maintenance, installation and capacity management and planning.
Receiving and logging deliveries and maintain inventory
Perform audits of colocation and MMR facilities
Monitoring status of all technical systems and taking appropriate action in the event of a fault
Liaise with Operations on after-hours facilities monitoring of all equipment and testing including life safety.
Liaise with Operations to coordinate preventative maintenance programs of critical equipment
Oversee accuracy of all electrical panel schedules and single-line updates.
Collaborate on sales engineering and design for new colocation prospects and existing tenant expansions and modifications.
Manage all fiber cross connect installations, removals, modifications, adds or changes.
Manage MMRs and common area building pathways such as entrances, cable risers, cable transition points and riser closets. Collaborate on improvements and expansions as well as day to day responsibilities.
Oversee project management in colocation facilities and MMRs.
Assist sales engineering with facility capacity inquiries regarding space, power and connectivity.
Analysis and solution of technical issues
Troubleshooting, guided by customers
Contribute to the expansion of the technical team over the 1-3 year horizon
As an ideal candidate, you have the following qualifications :
8-10 years’ experience in industry relevant positions and in a similar role for more than 3+ years
Experience managing end to end DC infrastructure (physical infrastructure and facilities)
Experience working with Hyperview DCIM (or equivalent)
Strong colocation industry experience
Experience contributing to the development policies, procedures, and best practices.
Independent, pro-active, and effective written and oral communicator
