What we offer

The Buyer will beinitially focused onidentifying,qualifyingand sourcingsupplier options forvolumetric modular construction, structural components (e.g. walls and floors) andcabinetry;supportingboththefinalization ofproductdesign and launch of theSAMI factory.After launch of the factory, this rolewillleadsourcingactivities orfutureproductionproduct launches,vendor/partmanagement,andVA/VEinitiativescontributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.The Buyer will utilize strategic planning tofactormarketand demand analysis, identify risks and develop contingency plans. Throughsupplier selection & evaluation,the Buyer will negotiate to ensurethey provide themost competitive advantagefor the organization.

What you’ll do

  • Work directly withengineering/program managementacross all product lines toidentify vendorsand developeffectivesourcing strategieson production partsto optimize pricing, qualityand supply base.
  • Supportplant levelsourcingrequirementsfrom an MRO standpoint.
  • Manage relationships with vendors to ensureoverallperformanceand long-term partnership success.
  • Develop conciseunderstanding of cost drivers, breakdownsper commodity.
  • Analyzeand understandmarket trends to identifycost,supplyopportunities.
  • Negotiate and develop supplier agreements to reducetotal costof ownershipand optimize productionefficiency.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical parts/suppliers.
  • Manage supplier productionrisksacross all functions.
  • Conduct ongoing market tests (RFQs) to ensurecompetitive position for the organization.
  • Managepurchase price variance, cost avoidance to mitigate any market exposure (tariffs, cost increases, surcharges, rebates, etc.).
  • Work with quality and production to ensure no downtime and maintain continuous supply/quality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education inSupply Chain, Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Economics, orarelated field, or an equivalent combination ofexperience and certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain/sourcingwithin a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, ERPsupply chainsystems.
  • Exposure to commodity markets & trends.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Effective time management andproblem-solvingskills to mitigate risks andeffectively meet program deadlines.
  • Ability to summarize strategies into a clearand concise narrative.

Bonus Points

  • Certifications or designationswith a Supply Chain focus.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000-$110,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
