The Team
The Peace District Authorizations team is a well-established group of professionals who play a key role in supporting sustainable resource development across the region. As Resource Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of approximately 10 staff within a broader unit of 21, working closely with colleagues in stewardship, revenue, and authorizations to guide permit decisions that impact industry, employment, and government revenue. This team values collaboration, diverse perspectives, and inclusive decision-making to ensure fair and equitable outcomes for communities and partners. The Role
This Resource Manager role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape decisions that directly impact communities, industries, and the environment across British Columbia. You’ll guide permit reviews, support the District Manager in decision-making, and collaborate with major licensees and other ministries to ensure cumulative impacts are thoughtfully considered. The work supports government revenue and sustainable development, while promoting fairness and transparency in how resources are managed. If you're passionate about inclusive leadership and cross-sector collaboration, this role is a chance to make a lasting difference.
Qualifications
- University degree or diploma in a field related to natural resource management, business / public administration or acceptable equivalent may be considered.
- Experience in leading and coaching diverse teams in a supervisory or team lead environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving problems with stakeholders in natural resource management.
- Two (2) years or more of experience in operational management of natural resources.

About this Position
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment. This position is excluded from union membership.
