Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving all aspects of Horizon Aircraft’s information technology systems and cybersecurity posture. This includes leadership of IT security, network administration, cloud infrastructure management, user administration, and policy governance to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all digital systems.
This individual will plan, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade IT infrastructure and security frameworks, while providing expert support and guidance across the organization. The IT Manager will also contribute to policy development, enforce security standards, and coordinate risk mitigation initiatives in line with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Experience in DevOps practices and cloud-native environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) is considered an asset, particularly for managing code repositories and test system automation.
Job Duties
- Oversee IT security and cybersecurity operations, including network protection, threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, incident response, and penetration testing coordination.
- Manage and administer the cloud environments including Azure and AWS ensuring uptime, scalability, and compliance with data governance policies.
- Lead capacity planning for cloud, storage, network, internet and other applications to always maintain a scalable environment.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and authentication systems, maintaining least-privilege access and security best practices.
- Create, maintain, and enforce IT policies and procedures, including cybersecurity, data retention, acceptable use, and disaster recovery.
- Govern IT policies through regular audits, reviews, and employee awareness initiatives.
- Negotiate with third party vendors for IT needs, as necessary.
- Oversee hardware and software procurement, installation, maintenance, and licensing compliance while adhering to approved budgets.
- Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including Wi‑Fi connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Coordinate and execute backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for security vulnerabilities or system weaknesses.
- Monitor and manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evolving cyber threats to proactively strengthen IT capabilities.
- Support and train staff on cybersecurity awareness and proper IT system use.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT performance, security posture, and infrastructure improvements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
