Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled SharePoint Web Publisher (Content Editor) to shape and maintain our corporate intranet experience. In this role, you will act as a bridge between technical functionality and user-centric content, supporting stakeholders across the organization to ensure information is clear, accessible, and well-structured. You will be responsible for publishing high-impact pages, managing complex site architectures, and guiding internal partners through the transition from SharePoint Classic to Modern environments.

Advantages

Enterprise Impact : Play a pivotal role in internal communications for a major organization, influencing how thousands of employees access information.

Hybrid Flexibility : Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a hybrid model located in a prime downtown office at 81 Bay St.

High-Level Exposure : Work closely with senior business partners and diverse internal stakeholders, expanding your professional network.

Modernization Leadership : Be at the forefront of SharePoint Modern migrations, gaining hands-on experience in the latest intranet technologies.

Responsibilities

SharePoint Publishing & Site Management

Build, edit, and publish pages while managing content libraries, permissions, metadata, and site structures.

Support migrations from SharePoint Classic to Modern, including content mapping, IA redesign, and troubleshooting.

Maintain strict governance standards for page templates and navigation quality.

Information Architecture & UX

Organize complex information to improve findability and the overall user experience.

Apply UX principles to page layouts and recommend usability improvements aligned with enterprise standards.

Content Quality & Accessibility

Review all content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

Ensure every page meets WCAG 2.1+ accessibility requirements, conducting rigorous QA checks on formatting and functional testing.

Collaboration & Support

Partner with Communications and various business units to deliver high-impact digital workspaces.

Provide expert guidance and coaching to content owners on SharePoint best practices.

Qualifications

Must-Have Requirements :

Experience : Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint (Classic and Modern) at an enterprise level.

Technical Proficiency : Deep understanding of SharePoint site creation, metadata, permissions, and web parts.

Accessibility Standards : Strong, demonstrable understanding of WCAG guidelines and accessible content design.

Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

Familiarity with the broader Microsoft 365 suite (Viva, Teams, Power Automate).

Experience within a Financial Institution (FI) or a similarly large, regulated enterprise.

Basic image editing skills (e.g., Photoshop) and basic HTML / CSS knowledge.

Previous experience specifically within a corporate intranet or internal communications team.

Summary

This is a 12-month contract opportunity with a high possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time role based on business performance. You will join a dedicated, three-person team responsible for the enterprise’s internal digital landscape, operating out of a premier office at 81 Bay St. The role follows a hybrid model, requiring your presence in the office on Thursdays and the fourth Friday of each month.

Interviews are expected to move quickly via MS Teams, consisting of a two-round process with the Team Lead and Hiring Manager. We are looking for a SharePoint expert ready to hit the ground running by the week of February 2nd to help drive our content modernization and accessibility initiatives forward.
