Job descriptionUndergraduate degree in Biology or Science. Bachelor of Education degree in Intermediate / Senior or equivalent. Membership, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers. Experience teaching senior level science courses within an Upper School setting. A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and demonstrated experience in embedding them in work with students, faculty, and the school community. Strong interpersonal, organization, communication, and time management skills. A commitment to continued professional growth and development. Willingness and enthusiasm to participate in the co-curricular programme and school community. Experience in an independent school setting would be considered an asset. What You’ll Be Doing :
- Teaching Grade 10 Science and Grade 11 Biology
- Preparing, developing and implementing engaging lessons plans for students consistent with the Ministry of Education curriculum;
- Using a variety of teaching and support strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students;
- Incorporating a variety of visual aids, creative projects and technology to gain and enhance student involvement;
- Evaluating each student’s learning, understanding and performance through class work, assignments and tests;
- Fostering healthy relationships with students and faculty to create an enriched learning environment;
- Maintaining effective communication with students, parents and faculty;
- Completing required record keeping such as student attendance, grades and report cards;
- Participating in extra-curricular coaching, co-curricular and supervision responsibilities.
