Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Rework Technician to join a leading automotive manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and reworking vehicle components to ensure they meet quality and production standards. You will work closely with production, quality, and testing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive manufacturing experience and strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and replace vehicle components as required.
  • Perform rework on vehicles and assemblies to meet quality specifications.
  • Install and route wiring harnesses, air hoses, and other vehicle components.
  • Perform drilling, fitting, and mechanical adjustments.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Accurately document repairs, inspections, and findings.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and end-of-line testing teams.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technician, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, vehicle assembly, mechanical repair, or a related environment.
  • Experience performing vehicle repairs, component installation, or manufacturing rework is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with electrical systems, wiring harnesses, or pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working under vehicles using hoists and lifting equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift.
