The Opportunity :
Our Vancouver Region Engineering operations encompass 30 business services and a team of 350 professionals. We are prioritizing the growth of our environmental services and have an exciting opportunity for a senior leader with strong business acumen, people skills, technical expertise, and leadership abilities to elevate our environmental business line to the next level. You will work alongside our 30+ other business leaders (i.e., alternative project delivery, highways, urban transportation, bridges, municipal, land development, water resources, utilities, etc.) to deliver a diverse range of projects in the following markets that McElhanney works in (i.e., Transportation & Transit, Cities & Communities, and, Energy & Resources)
Reporting to the Operations Leader of one of our lower mainland offices (Langley, Surrey or Vancouver), this role will work closely with our local technical experts and leaders, and support our company's wide environmental service, in partnership with our other regional environmental leaders located across Vancouver Island, Northern / interior BC & Alberta. You will foster a strong culture through trust and open communication, empowering your team to excel. Building on our reputation as a high-quality environmental consultant and continue to grow the environmental services group as a business leader while mentoring and developing talent, driving business development, and strengthening client relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking to leverage both their technical expertise and leadership skills while having the autonomy to shape and grow McElhanney's environmental services. The role offers the ability to drive strategy and outcomes, ensuring seamless integration with regional and company strategic plan through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and operational alignment. Aligned with McElhanney's culture of mentorship and career development, the successful candidate will receive mentorship, training, and support from experienced regional leaders and technical professionals across the company.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Work closely with the Managers and other business leaders to achieve operational excellence through collaboration and resources sharing across the region and company.
- Build a strong, cohesive, team culture that incorporates and prioritizes our shared commitment to safety, project management excellence, and client satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and manage performance to develop and retain top talent.
- Lead the regional environmental operations to building relationships with key clients, business development, workload, staffing, equipment, safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
- Assist the Manager in developing and executing branch strategic plans and budgets.
- Represent McElhanney to the external environment including clients, business partners, community organizations and professional associations to enhance McElhanney's positive public profile.

What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $190,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual's education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary / wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
