Job descriptionMaintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking and reporting shortages. Conduct cyclical and year-end inventory counts. Oversee the loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient handling. Keep detailed maintenance records for all equipment, including forklifts, saws, and delivery vehicles. Ensure daily pre- and post-trip inspections are completed for all vehicles and forklifts. Enforce workplace safety, fire regulations, and company policies. Participate in the health and safety committee as a management representative. Ensure all products are invoiced before leaving the yard. Monitor security to prevent internal and external theft. Knowledge of building and construction materials is essential. Superior leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing teams. Strong ability to prioritize tasks and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Experience with lean manufacturing principles is an asset. Ability to provide excellent customer service and sales support. Forklift Certification and a Class 5 driver’s license are required. Be part of a locally trusted company with a strong reputation. This leadership role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining equipment, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring experience in construction materials, logistics, and team management, with a strong focus on efficiency and operational excellence.

Responsibilities : Operations & Leadership :
- Supervise and train yard personnel and drivers, ensuring proper certification (forklift, equipment, safety).
- Manage staff schedules, approve overtime, and handle performance evaluations.
- Open and close the yard as needed, ensuring security and organization.
- Work closely with Outside Sales and Store Personnel to streamline communication and processes.
