Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join a dynamic team. This role will involve designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to impactful projects, ensuring that they are conducted within budget and on time, maintaining our commitment to quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high-quality, customer-focused Civil Engineering department, transitioning from current practices to best practices across diversified market sectors
  • Manage projects from initial design through on-site contract administration, including civil design and site servicing for various clients (educational, commercial, industrial, healthcare)
  • Prepare civil working drawings, construction details, and specifications in a collaborative team environment
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code and municipal design standards
  • Lead and manage multiple projects as part of the company's growth plan, ensuring sound organizational and technical skills

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Ontario licensed P. Eng. in good standing
  • 10+ years of experience in civil analysis, design, and detailing
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, SSA Design Suite, PC SWMM, Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD (latest edition)
  • Familiarity with shoreline management, flood and erosion control, and floodplain mapping using GeoHECRAS and HEC-RAS
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, with experience in structural detailing considered an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
