We’re the largest financial institution based on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, and we’ve got an opportunity in our Private Wealth division. Reporting to the Vice President Private Wealth, the Assistant Manager, Private Wealth is responsible to manage the overall administrative support function of the client services team while leading, coaching and developing a team of representatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on coaching and mentoring direct reports to build upon and develop new and existing client relationships within the Private Wealth division. What’s the role?

As Assistant Manager, Private Wealth , you are responsible to manage the overall administrative support function of the client services team while leading, coaching and developing a team of representatives. A strong focus for this position is to coach and mentor direct reports to build upon and develop new and existing client relationships through established practice management procedures. The Assistant Manager, Private Wealth , is also responsible for managing and directing the department functions within established policies and procedures and is accountable for growth by developing a strong team to support services ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness. Works closely in collaboration with the Manger, Credit Union Wealth to ensure consistent operational excellence across all wealth teams.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma requiring 3-4 years of full-time study or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hold a CIRO license as Investment Representative in the Province of BC.
  • Minimum five (5) years managing or working with an Investment Advisor to manage the administration of a book of business.
  • Thorough understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.
  • Registered Representative in the Province of B.C an asset.
  • Hold a Life, Disability and Health Insurance license in the Province of BC an asset.
  • Minimum six (6) years progressive financial industry experience an asset.
  • Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with :

  • Proven knowledge of wealth management policies, procedures, practices and general branch operations.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the investment platform.
  • Solid understanding of the competitive environment in the financial marketplace, and local communities within the region.
  • Credit Union Wealth Management experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with clients / members, employees, and cross functional teams.
  • A dynamic decision maker who can exercise discretion and diplomacy in matters of confidentiality.
  • A committed leader with experience working in a fast-paced work environment through strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

    Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $67,883.00 to $90,173.00

    The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
