The purpose of the role of the Parts Advisor is to provide technical support in the procurement and supply of parts, components, materials and consumables to keep the equipment repairs ongoing. Working with preferred vendors, tracking parts for arrival, storing parts and ensuring the prompt return of damaged and incorrect parts.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for ordering parts, confirming orders and monitoring delivery times
- Receive all shop related items, label and distribute immediately upon receipt or store in an organized manner until the assigned job is ready for the part
- Track any incomplete order status (outstanding orders and back orders) and follow up as necessary
- Inspect all parts for damage, quality and accuracy upon arrival
- Return and re-order any damaged or incorrect parts
- Pickup parts at vendors as requested
- Track and monitor any parts related vendor returns including warranty items.
- Look for supplying alternatives (new and used parts)
- Assist shop with any parts related research
- Other duties as assigned
